The story of the Lancashire Witches is one of the
most infamous in the history of Lancashire. It dates from 1612, when the
trial of the witches took place at Lancaster Castle and resulted in the
hanging of nine people from the Pendle area for the crime of witchcraft.
The story of the Lancashire Witches is divided into four chapters : an Introduction, The Crimes, The Trial and a Conclusion. Also included are maps of the area, some tourism and hotel information, a links page to other sites on the same subject, books for sale and a text only printable page of the story. Use the white links on the left to navigate around the Lancashire Witches site.
